The Waltz of Melancholic Soap Bubbles
i was feeling a bit melancholic. i was scrolling my dash and there was an image of bubbles, i decided to glitch it and made a gif with the results. the cool thing is that it is transparent and that i’m less melancholic.

The process of making this glitch gif was inspired by year of the glitch 229 to 236 creations. It has a lofy spacial atmosphere that I particulary like, title is a reference to Brother Android’s album. Also, it’s always better in High Resolution.

Using glitch on glitch, one after another, to get new result. I consider this like a kind of research in glitch dynamic and texture. It has to quite big to be fully perceived.

Self-portrait I draw listening to dark, noisy, violent music, because that’s what filled my head this day. It was intense drawing this. I give a special affection to this portrait of myself.

Glitch using audacity on a big picture I took of my Gameboy Color. I like how it’s soft and bright, and the contrast it evokes between HD-looking glitch and classic constrated low pixel gameboy visuals.

Slowly Dying into Colours
Geometric drawing based on Fibonnaci & golden ratio, with watercolour experiment. I really like this one because it hits a kind of particular feel, but I’m not sure how to desribe it. Like about a mix of deep inner peace and internal violence at the same time, while being neutral outside.

Defective Feels
Gif made from databending pictures of a 7x7 heart (each square being 40x40 pixels). It’s about all those people who feels they works differently on their inside, about extremely unique emotions, excitation and energy, tortured love, deconstruction, beats & time, abstraction, and really a lot of other things. Also It’s very hypnotic.
Sometimes I’ve this feel something is glitched inside of me.

Passing thoughts
Old iphone lo-fi memory picture about travelling by train mainly. The sound of the train, the motion of the landscape in the window, the silence between the passenger and your immersion in the thoughts that naturally comes to you. This picture also remind me of a song of Spirited Away, The sixth station, and mostly the part in the movie, where Chihiro is in the train, with No face.

Ok, so I went to Pukkelpop 2012, a big Belgian festival, and it was really good. Here is a official link of picture and video of it. It was my first big festival, I’ve nearly seen everything I wanted and some were just amazing. Nicely drank and smoked a bit too yea. Meet some nice guys too. Also, I ate a lot of honey bread I had brought with me and I dyed my head in red for the fun. So here is a little list of the good things I’ve seen, I didn’t put everything.

Day1
Stay+ which was surprisingly good. The Zombie Kids, Koan Sound, Dirtyphonics and Modestep, heavy beats & woobles, nice show and lots of fun. Rustie was just incredible, really intense, he mixed lots of unreleased stuffs whit some of his best songs. Modeselektor I miss the half because of Rustie but at least I saw both. By the way just amazing too. I managed to go all ahead with my friends and we received a Modeselektor towel. Damn. It’s on my wall right now. Nicolas Jaar mixed time for uswhich was excellent,oh and there was a saxophonist with him. Netsky, Laurent Garnier and Nero, too much people for Netsky and lots of commercial tunes but LG played The man with the red face and Nero mixed Die Antwoord in a Dubstep/Drum&Bass remix, heavy.

Day2
Sound of Stereo, Bassnectar were really cool. Apparat was genius, lots of people on the stage with him even violinist. Rusty Nails, Arcadia and lots of other songs I knew. Emotional links with the peoples, incredible performance. Knife party in the night with mosh pits was so fucking intense especially the atmosphere. James Blakewas DJ set but he mixed the whillem scream, really good. Digitalism, which I didn’t know well but sounded cool, nice show and true glitch visuals so yeah.

Day3
Balthazar in the morning sun. Loadstar for incredible remix. Blawan had really interesting progressive beats, there was a nice feel to it. OFWGKTAwas the shit. A fucking damn incredible show and Tyler was crazy. There was even people with unicorn toys and inflatable alligators lulz GolfWang. Only see a bit of Tiga and Enter Shikari because of Sleigh Bells which was one of the best. The sound was big, people were in and the singer made the show excellent. I touched her while crowd surfing, yep. Foo Fighters too many people… just saw on the screens but it was really nice, didn’t stay the 2 hours though. Four Tet was so amazing people started throwing bootles when it was finished because they wanted it back hahaa.
Anyways it was really cool to see artists I listen to a lot in live show or discover some other nice things. The only thing is that often when there are too many people there is no more real contact with the artist but luckily I mostly don’t like the music everyone like. So all that and the atmosphere being really nice, I’m going next year for sure.

Go To Sleep
Sometimes when I feel lost in myself, or when my mind is dark, I like creepy stuffs. I was quite fascinated by creepypasta, other creepy media or simply by things in my life, when I drew this. I’m still convinced that the creepy factor of various things only depend of your own mind, I once tried to write about this.
This was mainly inspired by Jeff the killer, Go to sleep, things related to it. But there is some movies, games, musics, books, stories that I love too. It’s not true horror style but more psychologic, dark, ambient, insane things. Darren Aronofsky’s movies or Aphex Twin videoclips come the first the my mind but there are creepier things.
I mean, it is definitively not of Jeff you must be afraid of. It’s of you. Because there’s certainly a bit of Jeff in you.

Telling the Landscape
The very first glitch art I made, it’s not excellent but I love its feel, a bit like an old painting. It’s mostly audacity glitch on BMP and TIFF, then some works in photoshop. Also I was a lot inspired by this glitchy music when I made it, it just fits so much with the thing.

Geometric Loops on 6x6 grid
So those are geometric drawings, I experimented with a concept and this is the result. I made 6x6 grids and try to draw loops hitting each single points of the grid. Also, I only allowed myself to draw 1/2 diagonal lines. I choose 6x6 because it’s the minimum, there is no possible loops in 5x5. They were many possibilities so I decided to only keep the ones with double symmetry, and here you have all the 6 possibilities.
I find those very interesting, they made me think of element symbol or magic seal. Also it’s just nice to think each one is only one single loop. I like to draw those kind of stuff.

Messing with the parameters from yesterday’s sketch. Try running it if you’re into processing; very different than the stills.
